Dear subscribers,

Lenin, Siouxsie Sioux, Odysseus, Odin, Hamlet, Hedda Gabler, Hans Christian Andersen, Santa Claus, and my mom! Postcards not only documents a trip—it takes the reader on one as well! Coming soon: another travelogue
The final draft of Pilgrimizing: A Record of a Pleasure Trip to “The Holy Land” has been sent to my long-time editor, Curtis Starkey. This book documents my 2014 sojourn to Israel-Palestine during the “asymmetrical war.” Once I receive Curtis’ commentary, I will prepare Pilgrimizing for immediate publication. Look for a cover featuring the Canaanite-Phoenician goddess Tanit sometime before summer:
Let the games begin . . . in paperback!
The paperback version of my most recent book, Earnest Games, is now ready for publication! I expect it to be live on Amazon sometime in March. The e-book version, you may recall, came out in October of 2022 and looks like this:

I hope you’ve been enjoying your weekly installments of Texting, the podcast I co-host with Russia-based Substack author Tomek. During this second season, we have so far considered the songwriting of Christine McVie, J Dilla’s Donuts, graffiti, the film Synecdoche, New York, Jack Kerouac’s The Dharma Bums, and the textual implications of the common sunflower. Tune in Monday to hear our discussion of Brian De Palma’s Scarface.
I have a backlog of video versions of Texting which I’ll be uploading to my YouTube channel soon. In the meantime, here’s a video of me discussing Texting and other matters with my friend Craig on his podcast Can’t Find My Way Home:
I’ve also recorded two episodes of a new podcast, Books Are Burning, with my friend and sometime co-author G.J. Villa. Audio versions will be posted here on Substack under this pod cover:
Yet another podcast, Guitar & Pen, is in the works as well! More on that anon!
And finally . . .
YouTube has been censoring my music! Yes, the official music video for my musical project [ai]’s “Dystopian Theme Song” has been age-restricted! Read the full story here:
That’s all for now, dear subscribers! I’ll have more updates soon!
