Dear Substackers,
Technically speaking, Lunar New Year does not begin until January 29, but I’ll go ahead and wish you a happy Year of the Snake today. Thanks again for your continued support of all my activities here at markwillwrite. As always, please watch your inbox for updates on my books, music, and podcasts in 2025. I actually don’t have too many specifics to share at this point, but I can tell you the following:
Tomorrow, January 2, at 10 PM, Taipei time, Tomek will be making his first appearance on the Books Are Burning! podcast. Catch us on the livestream if you’re around. The topic of discussion will be the highlights of Tomek’s reading in 2024, with a particular focus on an anthology of Alice Munro stories:
After having joined me recently in the Riverside studio for an analysis of Roger Waters’ “reimagining” of The Dark Side of the Moon, Craig Branch of the Can’t Find My Way Home podcast will be returning to Guitar & Pen in early January to discuss David Gilmour’s latest album:
Season 4 of Texting will kick off this month with an episode on the Enneagram featuring special guest Steve W of We Need Some Therapy, That’s All? on YouTube. I’ve already started reading up on the topic:
That’s all for now. I hope to know more about what’s to come in 2025 after I sit for my annual tarot reading with Madame Sidney in the next week or so. As it happens, your favorite author, songwriter, and publisher in permanent exile needs the oracle’s guidance and reassurance before he can finalize his overly ambitious plans. Ever given to paranoia, he sometimes fears he is a sheep among wolves, and as this Year of the Snake uncoils, he seeks the means of becoming wise as a serpent while remaining innocent as a dove so that he might successfully organize and execute all of his schemes. Let’s see what’s in the cards for him.
Until soon!
