This week’s song, “Dirty Old Man,” is the final track on my musical project [ai]’s Korea-themed album No Cure for the Princess Disease. Like last week’s song, “Rice King,” “Dirty Old Man” is an example of what producer Bill Laswell calls “collision music.” But whereas “Rice King” might be described as a mashup of Muddy Waters and AC/DC, we can say that “Dirty Old Man” is the musical lovechild of Bob Dylan and Black Sabbath. Press play above and you’ll understand what I mean.
If you want the full experience of “words & music,” check out the previously-published lyric video of “Dirty Old Man”:
Of course, “Dirty Old Man,” like the other tracks on No Cure for the Princess Disease, sounds even better in the context of the entire album, which you can listen to on Spotify (and pretty much everywhere else).
