Here, finally, is the video version of the latest episode of Texting, the topic of which was Don Quixote by Miguel Cervantes. As you know from having already listened to the audio version of S3E16—right?—my co-host Tomek finished reading the Spanish literary classic in English translation last month, whereas I read (or at least half-read) it, also in English translation, 27 years ago. Our discussion of this canonical text, for better or worse, was rather lengthy and wide-ranging, but that’s how we tend to roll. In case you’re wondering—and I know you are—the bit about “edging” in relation to chivalric romance begins around 41:15, and the segment known as “Mark Explains Big Words” kicks off around 53:40. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t watch all 1:50:33 of the video, then like it, comment on it, and subscribe to my YouTube channel. No, not at all. And as for that beautiful thumbnail you see above, it was made by Tom Quixote himself. What say you to that, textual deviants?
S3E17, the focus of which was Fernando Pessoa’s Book of Disquiet, has already been recorded, but its release will be delayed until after a special emergency edition of the pod, which we will record this Friday and I will post next Monday. The emergency topic, of course, will be the shitshow that is (S)election 2024. Stay tuned.
